Stainless Welding Rods Monolith ER316L

EN ISO 14343-A-W 19 12 3 L
AWS A5.9: ER316L
CSA W48: ER316L
Terms of use

Can be used for welding chromium corrosion-resistant ferritic steels when:

  • The weld does not come into contact with sulfur-containing environments, and
  • Operating conditions do not require matching linear expansion coefficients between base and deposited metal.

Welding is carried out using direct current, with Argon as the shielding gas.

Special properties

Ferrite content in the deposited metal after welding is ~5.5% (FN ~7)

Stainless welding rods Monolith ER316L have properties and uses similar to 316LSi, but are recommended when high silicon content is undesirable. For example, when welding structures where there is an increased risk of hot cracking.
